You will be in a harness for two hours, walking between lines on uneven paths and stairs in a humid rainforest. The operators' rules are mostly about shoes and loose items, and the guests' advice is mostly about mosquitoes.

What should you wear ziplining in Maui?
Closed-toe athletic shoes, longer shorts, leggings or light pants and a T-shirt or sports top.
Choose clothes that breathe and dry fast: the north shore is humid and showers are common. Longer shorts or leggings are more comfortable under a harness than short shorts, a skirt or a dress, and the operator recommends them. The operator also advises against white clothing.

Closed-toe athletic or hiking shoes with a heel strap; Jungle Zipline does not allow Tevas, Keens, Crocs, Skeletoes or Skechers Shape-ups, and no high heels.
You will climb stairs and walk on wet, uneven ground, so grip matters. At NorthShore closed-toe shoes are also required, and the operator lends a pair free of charge on request. Flip-flops and slides are not allowed on any course.
Shorts, leggings or pants?
Longer shorts, leggings or pants: they sit better under the harness and protect your legs on the trail.
Skyline's courses recommend shorts and short sleeves in the West Maui heat; in the Haiku rainforest, leggings or light pants also help with mosquitoes. Wear underwear and a top you are comfortable moving in, since the harness wraps your legs and waist.
What about hair, jewellery, hats and sunglasses?
Tie long hair in a low ponytail, low bun or braid, take off loose jewellery and rings, and stow hats and loose sunglasses.
Your helmet goes on over your hair, and anything loose can snag or fall into the jungle. Leave valuables in the car or at home.

Yes. The course is in a rainforest, the operator lists bug repellent on its what-to-bring list, and guests warn that the mosquitoes are waiting.
Put it on before you arrive; guests say the base also hands out bug spray and hand sanitizer. Sunscreen matters less in the shade of the jungle but more on the open West Maui courses.
Can you bring your phone or a GoPro?
Yes, at your own risk at Jungle Zipline; drones are not allowed anywhere on the property.
Use a phone lanyard or a zipped pocket, and keep it put away while you are on the line unless it is secured. Photo and video packages are sold at some other courses, such as Kapalua.
